The 2018 Broadmoor Pikes Peak Cycling Hill Climb once again presents racing excitement for elite riders and non-competitive athletes on August 11, a key stop in the Colorado Summit Cycling Series.

The Summit Series features three epic Colorado climbs blended to form one event series. From novices to professionals, the Westbound & Down - Suerte Guenella Hill Climb, Bob Cook Memorial Mt. Evans Hill Climb, and The Broadmoor Pikes Peak Cycling Hill Climb will provide the ultimate high-road experience in America.

The Series, a combination of the three climbs, will offer the optimum challenge for cyclists. Mount Evans (elevation 14,235') and Pikes Peak (elevation 14,115') are world-renowned and the highest paved roads in North America. This series provides cyclists an unrivaled opportunity to challenge themselves in three successive races up some of the toughest climbs in the world.

* The Westbound & Down - Suerte Guanella Hill Climb (June 3) is one of the most scenic routes in all of Colorado. Riders will leave historic downtown Georgetown and bisect 3,050' in just over 11 miles on freshly paved roads. The course winds and twists along with steeper sections near the finish to make that last surge all the more rewarding. Once again the course will be fully closed to traffic!

* The Bob Cook Memorial Mt. Evans Hill Climb (July 21) is a quintessential bicycle race that takes place on the highest paved road in the United States. Celebrating its 52nd year, it was run for the first time in 1962 and has run almost annually. It was renamed in 1981 in honor of five-time race winner Bob Cook, who died of cancer at the age of 23.

* The Broadmoor Pikes Peak Cycling Hill Climb (August 11) also features a non-competitive fun ride that gives cyclists of all abilities a truly unique experience on Pikes Peak - America's Mountain. Created in 2010, this marks the 9th consecutive year of The Broadmoor Pikes Peak Cycling Hill Climb, an annual event of the Colorado Springs Sports Corporation. This event attracts the top competitive and recreational cyclists from across the nation and around the world. (pikespeakcyclinghillclimb.org)

This is the same course used by the world famous Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb since 1916. Cyclists participating in the race and gran fondo will negotiate 156 turns and climb over 4,700' in 12.42 miles/20km to reach the summit.

Cyclists will ride in a fully supported event.
* Competitive Race & Gran Fondo: 12.42 miles/20km - 4,725 ft elevation gain

At an elevation of 14,115', Pikes Peak - America's Mountain, is one of Colorado's 54 fourteeners, mountains that rise more than 14,000 feet (4,267.2 m) above sea level, and the highest summit of the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains of North America. It is located within the Pike National Forest. The mountain is named in honor of American explorer Zebulon Pike and is a designated National Historic Landmark.
