Thousands of athletes, from first timers to veterans, are set to enter the iconic Blueprint for Athletes Leadville Race Series lottery as it opens for the 23rd annual Blueprint for Athletes Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race (MTB) and 34th annual Blueprint for Athletes Leadville 100 Trail Run presented by New Balance; both held in August.

Participants may purchase a training plan designed by official Leadville Trail MTB and Run coaches Dave Wiens, six time consecutive Leadville 100 MTB winner, and Ryan Krol, 2015 sixth place Leadman finisher, for $15 and be entered for a chance to win a spot in the event. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the training plans will be donated to the Leadville Legacy Foundation, a non-profit focused on building a stronger Leadville community. The lottery will remain open through Dec. 31 and all entrants will be notified of their status via email on Jan. 7. See registration page for official rules and details.

Each year, a fraction of those who enter will receive the chance to participate in the iconic ‘Race Across the Sky’, which boasts 100 miles of challenging Colorado Rockies terrain at elevations ranging from 9,200 to 12,600 feet and an overall course elevation gain of 18,000 feet. In 2016, Life TimeSM, The Healthy Way of Life Company will produce the 100 MTB on Aug.13 and the 100 Run on Aug. 20.

Registration also opens for two Leadville Qualifiers, the Blueprint for Athletes Austin Rattler MTB, held on April 9, 2016, and the Blueprint for Athletes Austin Rattler Run, held on April 10, 2016. Other Blueprint for Athletes Leadville Race Series events and training camps will open for registration on Jan. 11, 2016 including:

Events and camps have limited capacity and are expected to sell out quickly; athletes are encouraged to register upon registration opening for a guaranteed spot.
