High profile lacrosse will return to Colorado Springs this summer with the Adrenaline Lacrosse Western Showcase and Western Shootout, bringing added prestige to the 2018 Rocky Mountain State Games. The 2018 Western Showcase will be held on July 13 at the El Pomar Youth Sports Park followed by the Western Shootout at the same location on July 14-15.

The Western Shootout will be part of the Rocky Mountain State Games and is expected to bring 75 elite and high school teams and 1,875 athletes to Colorado Springs, along with 152 coaches, 50 college recruiters and over 3,700 family members of the participants. It's estimated that the tournament will generate over 1,300 room nights at local hotels.

Preceding the Western Shootout, the Western Showcase will enable recruiters to evaluate top players as they perform both as individuals and in a team atmosphere. Players are placed on teams and go through a myriad of valuable high-level clinics and seminars by NCAA coaches while competing in a series of top-level games. With representation from the majority of top NCAA D1, D2, D3 and MCLA programs, 70+ recruiters from all levels are expected to attend this event to evaluate the top talent.

A collaborative effort among Colorado Springs Youth Sports, Inc. (owner of the El Pomar Youth Sports Park), the Colorado Springs Sport Corporation and the City of Colorado Springs was successful in bringing back these well-established national lacrosse events to the city this summer. These events were previously held at the El Pomar Youth Sports Park in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

"We are very excited to bring the Adrenaline Western Showcase and the Western Shootout, the longest standing college lacrosse recruiting event in the West, back to Colorado Springs this summer. There are few places in the country that offer lacrosse families, players, coaches and staff so much to do both on and off the field" said Steve Sepeta, President of Adrenaline Lacrosse.

"We couldn't be more thrilled to bring the Western Showcase and Western Shootout back to Colorado Springs," remarked Steve Czarnecki, Executive Director of the El Pomar Youth Sports Park. "Thousands of top-level lacrosse players will come to Colorado Springs for great competition and showcase their skills for college coaches. These annual events bring great exposure value and economic impact to the Pikes Peak Region."

The 2018 Rocky Mountain State Games, Colorado's largest sports festival, offers 40+ sports, primarily over the last two weekends in July (20-22 & 27-29), with competition in Colorado Springs, Olympic City USA, and the Pikes Peak Region. Teams placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the Western Shootout will qualify for the 2019 State Games of America in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Adrenaline, the premier lacrosse brand west of the Mississippi, was founded by Division I Lacrosse All-Americans who relocated from the East Coast in search of the California dream and settled in San Diego. They surfed, skied, hiked, hunted, traveled, wandered, lived on couches and made ends meet by coaching lacrosse and selling apparel out of their garage. Adrenaline is a top national events and performance apparel provider for lacrosse athletes.
