ColderBOULDER Inc, organizers of the ColderBOLDER 5K, announced Spyder as the presenting sponsor for Colorado’s coldest 5K.

“As we embark on the 16th running of the ColderBOLDER in the Boulder community, we are thrilled to announce a partnership with a company who also has strong ties to the Boulder community,” said BolderBOULDER race director Cliff Bosley. “We know our runners love Spyder’s ski apparel, and we are excited to introduce them to their baselayers and cold weather performance apparel as they gear up for Colorado’s cold running season.”

The Spyder location in Boulder will host ColderBOLDER packet pick-up in addition to providing exclusive Cold Blooded technical tees to registered runners.

“As a 40-year, Boulder-based brand, we are thrilled to finally join in the ColderBOLDER, a Boulder tradition. There is a passion and pride in supporting a community based event, especially when it takes place in our season of expertise,” said Spyder VP of Marketing Brady Collings. “Outdoor winter activities are our specialty, and this is our community; what better way to engage and support those that have given Spyder so much over the years.”

The ColderBOLDER 5K is a little different, but so are those who enjoy running in the cold. Instead of one race with multiple waves the ColderBOLDER is actually 13 individual races. The first 12 races are invite-only. Each individual race puts runners together with others that raced the BolderBOULDER at about the same speed. The 13th and final race is open to everyone: runners, joggers and walkers. The top three men and women in each race win Cold Medals with a total of 78 medalists.

Temperatures for the ColderBOLDER have ranged from -3 degrees to 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Whatever the weather though, the ColderBOLDER is sure to pour cold water on those winter blues. For more information and to register for the ColderBOLDER, click here.
