2025 USTA National Hard Court Championships set for December 1-7 at La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club

The United States Tennis Association’s National 40 Hard Court Championships are scheduled for Monday, December 1 through Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, 2000 Spindrift Dr, La Jolla, CA 92037. Included in this tournament are national championships for the Father/Son and Grandfather/Grandson doubles divisions.


Tournament competition is slated for Men and Women in singles, doubles and mixed doubles events for players 40 and over (players must reach or exceed the age of 40 at any time during the current calendar year to be eligible). The USTA National Father/Son and Grandfather/Grandson Hard Court Doubles Championships are open to players of all ages, making them truly “Open Level” events. 


Tournament matches are scheduled each day of the week, with the finals slated for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  


“We are expecting a very strong player field for what has become one of the most exciting tennis weeks in the country,” said Bill Kellogg, Tournament Director and President of La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club. “Competitors will include former touring pros and will be coming from across the United States, and even internationally, to play for these prestigious titles.”


Schedules and match times for individual events will be determined by the number of entries.  Men's first-round singles and doubles matches are expected to begin on Monday, December 1. 


Women’s singles, doubles and Mixed Doubles are expected to get underway on Tuesday, December 2. Father/Son and Grandfather/Grandson events will start on Friday, December 5.


Draws will be available the week of November 27 via LJBTC.com. Prize money and USTA Gold, Silver and Bronze balls will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in all events.


La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club welcomes tennis spectators to the tournament with free admission. Onsite parking is available for a nominal fee. 


The USTA National 40 Hard Court Championships are part of the International Tennis Federation’s World Tennis Masters Tour. The Masters Tour includes individual and team singles, doubles and mixed doubles events for each five-year age increment from 30+ to 90+. Approximately 27,500 players worldwide aged 30+ to 90+ compete in Masters Tour events each year.
