The 5th annual Gulf Coast Clash presented by the Mobile Sports Authority is Friday, November 17th, and Saturday, November 18th, at the Mobile Civic Center. This year’s tournament features teams from the southeastern United States, including multiple defending state championship teams and individuals!

This year’s tournament will have a separate Girl’s Division! Girl’s Wrestling is one of the fastest-growing sports in the U.S. today, and this is the 3rd year for a Girl’s State Championship in Alabama! The Top 3 Girl’s Wrestling teams in the state will be there, so don’t miss this early season preview of the 2023 Girl’s State Championship!

Admission for spectators - $20 per day; Tickets available through GOFAN.

AHSAA South Sectional Swim & Dive Meet

Fredericka G. Evans Cultural Centre (Bishop State Community College)

November 17 - 18

This annual event will be held in the Fredericka G. Evans Cultural Centre on the main campus of Bishop State. The two-day meet serves as the AHSAA South Sectional Championship as student-athletes compete for a qualifying spot to advance to the Alabama State Championship in Auburn.

38th Annual Lyons Park Turkey Day Tennis Classic

Mobile Tennis Center

November 17 - 19

This much-anticipated tournament takes place at the Mobile Tennis Center days before the Thanksgiving holiday. As always, the Turkey Day Classic is a fun-filled three days of food, prizes, and competition. It is open to all ages 18 and above.

This tournament benefits the New Lyons Park Tennis Association programs, tutoring, and other initiatives.

Fun fact - this is the only tournament in the U.S. where the winner receives both a first-place trophy and a turkey!

2023 Publix 12K

USS Alabama Battleship Park

November 19

A patriotic run to honor those who serve!  The Publix Battleship 12K was started in 2015 as a way to pay tribute to those heroes who defend our freedom. Runners will experience a sense of patriotism when finishing alongside the USS Alabama at Battleship Memorial Park. Come out and support our heroes by participating in this patriotic race (or come out and cheer for the finishers)!
