2024 Bridge Builder Classic

The Mitchell Center

January 15, 2024

HBCU Basketball is back in the Port City! The Bridge Builder Classic takes place at the Mitchell Center on the campus of the University of South Alabama on January 15. This is the third year for the classic featuring the two largest Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the state of Alabama, the Bulldogs of Alabama A&M University vs. the Hornets of Alabama State University. The women's game is at 4 pm followed by the men's game at 6:30 pm.

Before the big game, four local high schools will take to the court to showcase the local talent. Blount will take on LeFlore at 11 am and following that game, BC Rain will take on Williamson at 1 pm.

2024 AHSAA State Bowling Championship Tournament

January 25 - 26, 2024

Mobile is hosting the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) State Bowling Tournament for the first time ever! This two-day varsity event features 16 girls' teams and 16 boys' teams in a state championship tournament format. The competition will take place at Bowlero Mobile (formerly Camellia Lanes).

 

2024 Azalea City Classic Ultimate Tournament

January 27 - 28, 2024

The Ultimate way to spend a weekend! The Mobile Ultimate Movement is hosting the Azalea City Classic at the Mobile County Sportsplex on January 27-28. This is a regional tournament with up to 16 teams competing for bragging rights. The format will be round-robin format, followed by an elimination bracket.  

 

2024 Hal Williams Invitational Golf Tournament

Magnolia Grove Golf Club

February 11 - 13, 2024

This annual invitational is a 54-hole national golf tournament featuring top college teams from various major conferences across the country. This popular event is co-hosted by the University of South Alabama Men's Golf Team and is the season-opener for many players.

Tournament play is Sunday, February 11, through Tuesday, February 13, from 8 am to 2 pm. It is open to the public, and admission is free.
