El Pomar Youth Sports Park Hosts 2012 US Lacrosse Women's Collegiate Lacrosse Associates National Championships Saturday, May 12th

Colorado Springs, Colo. - May 10, 2012 - Colorado Springs Youth Sports, Inc. (CSYS) and the El Pomar Youth Sports Park are honored to host the 2012 and 2013 US Lacrosse Division I and Division II Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Associates (WCLA) National Championships. Selection to the WCLA National Championships is based on a variety of criteria, including: overall record, record versus ranked teams, won-loss versus common opponents, record versus WCLA teams, quality wins/quality losses, upsets, head-to-head results, conference playoff performance, final conference standings, and record for last five (5) games of the season. US Lacrosse WCLA structure consists of approximately 200 college programs from across the country.
 

Who: 24 Division I and top Division II women’s collegiate lacrosse teams in the country
 

What: 2012 WCLA National Championships
 

Where: Newly renovated fields at the fifty-eight acre El Pomar Youth Sports Park

• Division II National Championship game, 12:30 p.m.
• Division I National Championship game, 3:00 p.m.

Why: Lacrosse is currently one of the fastest growing sports in the US and this event will be a showcase of some the nation’s best talent. This premier event is also estimated to bring approximately one million dollars in economic impact to the City of Colorado Springs.
