Racing and training events in women's monobob have been announced for the 2018-2019 winter season, according to the following article from Inside The Games.

Confirmation of the dates from the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) comes after the discipline was added to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic programme in July.

Women's monobob will join two-women bobsleigh in the Chinese capital as part of the bid for gender equality.

Two-man and four-man events are already on the program with the female monobob selected despite calls from some to add a four-women event.

Critics of monobob's inclusion have argued that the IBSF has no established circuit for the discipline, something the announced events will seek to address.

For junior women up to the age of 24, there will be training weeks with concluding races at five venues across the Americas and Europe.

  • Action will begin in Norway's 1994 Winter Olympic host Lillehammer between October 29 and November 5, where two races will be held.
  • Park City in the United States will host between November 13 and 19 before another American track in Lake Placid takes centre stage between November 23 and 30.
  • Königssee in Germany will welcome sliders between December 10 and 14 before Calgary in Canada hosts between January 3 and 10.
  • Three additional training camps will be held, in Königssee between November 19 and 25, La Plagne in France between March 18 and 24 and Lake Placid between April 1 and 7.

Development coordinator Manfred Maier, North American Cup coordinator Nicola Minichiello and Gatis Guts are organizing the program.

Monobobs will be available to rent with national federations now needing to register their interest in participating.
