This study, conducted in collaboration with the Outdoor Foundation, notes participation trends among various dem ographics. It also highlights ongoing challenges for the industry, including high participant churn and the strategic importance of engaging youth. Notably, 85 percent of current fishing participants began before the age of 12. However, retention drops sharply after age 18, with female youth exiting the activity at an 11 percent greater rate than their male counterparts.
