DisAbility Sports Fest Scheduled for This Weekend

The free ninth annual DisAbility Sports Festival and Assistive Technology Fair at Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 from 9a.m. - 3:30p.m. is now open for registration.

The event is free for people with ANY disability and ANY age. The event is also able to pay for a hotel room for the first 10 out of town Wounded Warriors to register. Those who are interested should visit the Assistive Technology booths, as there are many exciting features to share. 

Last year, the event had over 900 participants ages 2 to 84 years old and people from several different states including Hawaii, Illinois, Oklahoma, and North Carolina with a total of over 2000 attendees. This year, it is expected the event will have 1,000 participants including over 100 disabled veterans and active duty military at the free festival.

Participants will be introduced to at least 25 different sports with most sports being coached by an elite internationally competing athlete with a disability. In addition, there is a free lunch and t-shirts to all participants who pre-register. More than 30 information booths about other community programs and services available for people with disabilities and their families. In all, 2000-3000 people are expected to attend the festival.
