Disability Resources, Inc. (DRI) is thrilled to announce that Robert Marshall is the new Chief Executive Officer. Robert brings with him a wealth of experience in the field of residential care, with a proven track record in leadership and community service.

Robert joins DRI from the Betty Hardwick Center, a well-regarded organization in the Abilene community. He previously served as CEO of Hendrick Home for Children and as Vice President of Operations at Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, where he was known for his innovative approach and dedication to improving care for vulnerable populations. With over 20 years of experience enhancing residential care programs, managing large teams, and overseeing significant budgets, Robert has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the well-being of the individuals he serves.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Robert as our new CEO. His extensive background in residential care and his dedication to the individuals we serve make him the perfect fit for our organization,” said the DRI Board of Directors. “His expertise, combined with his passion for supporting intellectually disabled adults, will be instrumental as we look to the future.”

Robert holds a bachelor’s degree in applied sociology, with a minor in psychology, from McMurry University, and a master’s degree of education in counseling and human development from Hardin-Simmons University. He and his wife Shannon, a Baird native, are proud parents of two grown daughters and grandparents to three wonderful grandchildren.

Over the past two months, Robert has been actively engaged with the DRI community, visiting the campus almost daily to meet with staff and connect with residents. He has worked closely with our consultant, and the board members have all had the chance to discuss their vision for DRI’s future with him. Robert also attended the recent West Texas Dove Hunt Classic, where he had the opportunity to engage with some of DRI’s longtime supporters, gaining insight into the values and strengths of our organization.

“I am honored to be joining Disability Resources, Inc. as the new CEO,” said Robert Marshall. “Over the past months, I’ve had the privilege to meet the dedicated staff, board members, and the individuals we serve. I am excited to be part of the DRI community and to work together to enhance the quality of life for everyone at DRI.”

The entire DRI community is looking forward to the positive impact Robert’s leadership will bring, as he guides the organization toward a bright future, continuing our mission to support and uplift intellectually and developmentally disabled adults in Abilene and the surrounding communities.
