SON Events, Warner Bros., Announce Scooby-Doo Virtual Run Series

SON Events, in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, is excited to host a series of Scooby-Doo Virtual Runs in September and October, for families, their furry friends, and athletes of all abilities.  In support of Warner Bros.’ social responsibility initiative Scooby-Doo DOO GOOD bringing awareness to Animal Welfare this fall, the Scooby-Doo Virtual Runs are an opportunity for athletes of all levels, along with families, fans, and their pets, to come together and run in celebration of everyone’s beloved, favorite Great Dane!

“Together with the team behind the Scooby-Doo Virtual Runs, we're excited to see Scooby fans, runners, walkers and many furry friends across the country come together to participate in these virtual fun run events this fall,” said Maryellen Zarakas, Senior Vice President of Franchise Management and Marketing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. “Not only are we getting active, but we’re also joining forces with the community to bring attention to the importance of ensuring the well-being and care of pets and all animals through our Scooby-Doo DOO GOOD pro-social initiative.”

All runs welcome pets to join the fun!  In support of Scooby-Doo DOO GOOD’s attention to Animal Welfare, the Best Friends Animal Society will be highlighted to help bring awareness and with a portion of each entry fee donated to Best Friends Animal Society.  Details for each run include: 

  • In September, participants will be able to join the DOO GOOD 5K, celebrating the Scooby-Doo DOO GOOD campaign. All participants will receive a medal and t-shirt, as well as a downloadable finisher’s certificate. Four-legged participants will receive a medal and bandana.

  • In October – the Mystery Inc. Gang’s favorite month – participants can join the Scooby-Doo “Scoobtober” 5K and 10K. To get into the “Scoobtober” spirit, all participants will receive a medal and backpack, as well as a downloadable finisher’s certificate. Four-legged participants will receive a medal and bandana.

  • Individuals who participate in both the September DOO GOOD 5K and October’s Scoobtober events will receive a special series medal commemorating their two-month achievement.

“Everyone loves Scooby-Doo!  We’re thrilled to help offer a world where everyone can set out not only to reach for their own personal best, but also to help others achieve theirs – bring attention to a great cause for our pet friends – and while having a great time doing it,” said Mark Knutson, of SON Events. “That’s exactly what we’re setting out to accomplish with the Scooby-Doo Virtual Run.”
