Boston Marathon's Dave McGillivray/DMSE to be Race Director

A 10K race will be conducted across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Maryland. The event, for which pre-registration opened on July 14, will take place on November 9, 2014.

It was just announced that Dave McGillivray and his company DMSE to act as Race Director for this new event.

The race management company, CBBR  LLC of St. Michaels, Maryland, has noted, “The 10K Across the Bay is going to be one of America’s most premier bridge races This 10K run is across one of our country’s most beautiful man-made landmarks, the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. The original span opened in 1952 and, at the time, with a length of 4.3 miles (6.9 km), it was the world's longest continuous over-water steel structure. With amazing vistas of sailboats, cruise ships and giant cargo ships this will surely be an event that any runner will want to put on their ‘must run’ list.”

Promotions have been organized with Charm City Run, a local chain of running shoe and apparel stores in Maryland.

The race website, which is still under development, is available here.
