Porsche Hot Laps to take Place at Barber Motorsports Park

Take a Hot Lap Around the Barber Proving Grounds

Fast cars, fast cars and more fast cars. The inaugural Barber Historics to be held May 15-17 at the Barber Motorsports Park is proud to add an exciting new attraction called the Porsche Hot Laps during the event weekend. With a general admission ticket and a voluntary donation to benefit the Racing for Children’s charity, spectators over the age of 16 will have the opportunity to experience a hot lap in the Porsche Sport Driving School’s (PSDS) Boxster GTS or Carerra S.

“We are excited to offer such a unique off-track attraction that has never been offered before,” stated George Dennis, president of ZOOM Motorsports, the exclusive event promoter of the Barber Motorsports Park. “With only a voluntary donation and a general admission ticket to the event, fans will be able to take advantage of a ride of a lifetime.”

On Saturday, May 16, starting at 9:00 am and running until 5:00 pm, spectators and car enthusiasts will have the opportunity to experience the adrenaline rush of a Porsche prowess located at the new Barber Proving Grounds. The Porsche Hot Laps will consist of two laps per person, with a ride lasting approximately two minutes.  

“The 22 acre, multi-use facility is comprised of a 24’ wide road course with multiple configurations including a banked turn,” stated Jeff Purner, Operations Manager for  Porsche Sport Driving School. “Porsche Sport Driving School is excited to provide race fans with such a unique opportunity and we look forward to growing the PSDS and introducing new fans to the sport.”

About Barber Historics: At the Barber Historics the Historic Motor Sports Association is bringing in more than 250 museum quality race cars- from the earliest day of the sport through the 1980s- competing in a variety of classes based on engine size, car type and age.
