The event is sponsored in part by the Tourism Board of Illinois.

Gateway Motorsports Park officials note, “Each year, too many young people are seriously injured and some killed due to illegal drag racing on Hall Street and various locations throughout the City of St. Louis.  Gateway Motorsports Park offers a safe place for licensed drivers 16 years and older to drag race and drift their cars on a supervised, nationally-sanctioned drag strip. Midnight Madness events are on the schedule monthly during the season. Gateway Motorsports Park is leading the charge to spread the word to young people about how to safely satisfy their need for speed on a supervised, authorized race track.”

The mission of the facility is to provide fans, racers and sponsors with a first-class, up close and personal racing experience. Located just five minutes from downtown St. Louis and covering 180 acres of prime real-estate, Gateways MSP is the largest outdoor entertainment facility in the region, encompassing a ¼ mile NHRA-sectioned drag strip, 1.25 mile NASCAR speedway, 1.6 mile road course, a new Kartplex facility and a new 14-acre off road course. www.gatewaymsp.com
