Details Announced for 2015 Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama

ZOOM Motorsports announced today that tickets are now on sale for the 2015 Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama race weekend and can be purchased online at www.barbermotorsports.com. The three-day weekend that will take place April 24 – 26, 2015, at Barber Motorsports Park, will again feature the Verizon IndyCar Series, Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tires, Cooper Tires USF2000 powered by Mazda, Pirelli World Challenge Sports Car Series and Pro Mazda presented by Cooper Tires.

For today only, fans have the opportunity to take advantage of big savings on general admission tickets and paddock garage passes during the one-day Cyber Monday flash sale, valid until midnight tonight. Fans can use the code “25off” at checkout to receive 25% off their general admission tickets and paddock garage passes when visiting www.barbermotorsports.com.

“This year’s event is already shaping up to be the best yet,” stated George Dennis, president of ZOOM Motorsports, the exclusive event promoter of Barber Motorsports Park. “Tickets make a great holiday gift for the sports fan or race enthusiast on your list, so now is a great time to buy early and save big.  With more exciting racing action than ever before, the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama will be a ‘can’t miss’ event for 2015.”

Throughout the three-day weekend, fans will enjoy seeing all of the big names in IndyCar racing including Graham Rahal, Marco Andretti, Helio Castroneves, Will Power and two-time defending champion Ryan Hunter-Reay as they take on the 2.38 mile, 17-turn circuit to prepare for the main event on Sunday, April 26.

The popular Legacy Indy Lights 100 returns, offering a second race for fans during the weekend. Highlighting the brightest rising talent in the Indy Lights presented by Cooper Tires series, these drivers compete with an ultimate goal of one day securing a seat in the Verizon IndyCar Series.

The open-wheel, open cockpit Pro Mazda racers will bring the second step in the Mazda Road to Indy development series at top speeds of 170 MPH and 260 horsepower. The Cooper Tires USF2000 will also return to the Mazda Road to Indy Series and will produce up to 170 horsepower and top speeds of 150 MPH. Indy Lights, USF2000, as well as Pro Mazda will feature double-header races and will compete on Saturday and Sunday.

Another exciting series returning to Barber Motorsports Park is the Pirelli World Challenge Sports Car Series, offering fans four races throughout the adrenaline-packed weekend. Featured classes will include Grand Touring (GT), Grand Touring Sport (GTS), as well as Touring Car (TC) and Touring Car B-Spec (TCB).  These series feature manufactures including Honda, Volvo, Kia, and Porsche, Audi, as well as American-based Cadillac, Chevrolet and Ford. 

Back by popular demand, holiday gift packages are now on sale and will include two Sunday general admission tickets and the opportunity for fans to take their vehicle, car or motorcycle, for two touring laps around the exclusive Barber Motorsports Park for only $99. Packages are available for purchase until December 31, 2014, and orders must be received by Friday, December 19, 2014 at 12:00 pm CT to ensure delivery by Christmas. Touring laps will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2015, and can be purchased online at www.barbermotorsports.com.

Also returning in 2015 is CM’s Trackside Tavern, an upgraded hospitality optionCM’s Trackside Tavern guests will have one of the best seats in the house with a trackside view of six different turns of the racing circuit from the Fan Zone. Featuring food from Golden Rule BBQ, La Paz, PT's of Soho, Michael’s Restaurants, Joel's, Uncle Sam's Barbecue and G-Dog’s, CM's Trackside Tavern includes complimentary breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks and three drink tickets to a full service bar. General admission and paddock garage access are included with each daily ticket purchased and one CM’s Lot E on-site parking pass is included for every two tickets purchased. Starting at only $135, this ticket includes it all.

General admission tickets for the sixth annual event start as low as $15 and, as always, children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult.
