Barber Motorsports Park to Play Key Role in IndyCar Preseason Prep

Barber Motorsports Park will once again play a key role in the preseason preparations for the 2014 IndyCar Series season by hosting an open test Monday and Tuesday at the 2.38-mile road course.

With its season-opening event set for the end of March, all of the IndyCar Series teams are expected to be at Barber to make final preparations for the March 30th event at St. Petersburg.

Barber Motorsports Park Season Pass holders will have special access to view the test Monday and Tuesday. In addition to the test, Season Pass holders have access to all of the spectator events at Barber Motorsports Park including the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama, Triumph Superbike Classic, Barber Vintage Festival presented by Triumph Dealers of North America, and more. Season Passes are still available and can be purchased at www.barbermotorsports.com.

The event is not open to the general public, only season pass holders.

Below is a complete schedule of on-track activity, as well as media events during the open test:

Teams will return to Barber Motorsports Park April 25-27 for the fifth annual Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama.  The three-day race weekend will feature eleven different races.  In addition to the traditional IndyCar Series and Indy Lights races, the 2014 weekend will also feature the Pirelli World Challenge Sports Car Series, Pro Mazda presented by Cooper Tires and USF2000 Championship powered by Mazda races at Barber Motorsports Park.

Tickets start as low as $15 and kids 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult. For a limited time, fans purchasing a three-day ticket will receive free parking for all three days.

The event weekend will feature activities for fans of all ages including a ferris wheel, a kid zone for the younger fans, driver autograph sessions in the fan zone, and much more. For more information, visit www.barbermotorsports.com.
