USA Gymnastics (USAG) today announced that Carol Fabrizio has been named the organization’s Chief Communications and Marketing Officer, effective February 13, and will lead communications, brand, and partnership initiatives. Fabrizio will be based in Indianapolis and will report to President and CEO, Li Li Leung.

“We are committed to continuing to reinforce and built trust with our community, and that starts with consistent communications with our stakeholders,” said Leung. “I’m excited to have Carol on board to help us highlight the meaningful changes we are making on our journey to becoming a truly athlete-centric organization. Carol’s prior experiences and passion will be a great fit to help USA Gymnastics move forward and will be a tremendous resource as we continue to implement reforms.”

As Chief Communications and Marketing Officer, Fabrizio will develop and implement the overall strategic direction for the organization’s internal and external communications and marketing philosophy. Her key responsibilities will include stakeholder and media relations, digital strategy, and content development; she will also oversee the organization’s revenue drivers of partnerships, media distribution, and events.

“As someone who has an intense passion for sports, I feel incredibly honored to be a part of the team that is building the future of USA Gymnastics,” said Fabrizio. “I am deeply committed to working with organizations that share my values, and I have been moved by Li Li’s vison to build an organization that focuses on athlete health and safety. I look forward to working with her and the entire USA Gymnastics team to make that vision a reality, and to share the story of our continued evolution.”

Fabrizio has spent the last nine years with Vail Resorts in Broomfield, Colorado, where she most recently served as the Vice President of Communications and Marketing Operations. In that role, she led all strategic communications and public relations efforts for Vail Resorts, including corporate, crisis, and executive communications. She also oversaw all public relations efforts for the industry-changing Epic Pass, for thirty-seven mountain resorts across three different countries, and for the company’s numerous ancillary businesses, including hospitality, retail, and real estate. Fabrizio also led a transformation of the entire go-to-market process, including organizational design, process development, and change management.

Outside of the office, Fabrizio previously served as Board Secretary and Governance Committee Chair for The Girls Athletic Leadership School of Denver (“GALS”), which uses a movement-based approach to learning. GALS’ mission is to empower girls to succeed academically, thrive physically, lead confidently, and live boldly.

Fabrizio earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and graduated with a B.A. in international relations from the University of Southern California.
