Golf Travel May Expected to Experience Uptick Following the Sport’s Appearance in Rio 2016 Olympics

Sports travel planners, take note: International sports destinations are on the rise with the opening of a golf facility in Mexico, a reflection of the growth the sport is expected to have as a result of its appearance in the summer 2016 Olympics in Rio.

Travel Weekly reports that Wright Balance Golf Academy will expand to a year-round golf instruction and practice facility at El Cid Golf & Country Club in Mazatlan.

The academy features balance measurement and balance fitting systems to help train golfers from beginner to professional levels.

Dr. David Wright, a professional golf instructor since 1982 and Golf Magazine Top 100 Instructor, trains using ways to minimize the physical stress of core muscles. The Academy also works to increase balance, provide course management coaching and improve short game performance.

In addition to the golf academy, El Cid Golf & Country Club has three golf courses, each with its own signature character and nine holes designed by Lee Trevino. Packages at the Academy feature golf session itineraries from half-day to three-day workshops. Monthly classes begin now through October 2016.
