Atlanta Competition to be Broadcast Nationwide

From April 4-6, Fathom Events and Nfinity Athletic bring the country’s top cheerleading teams together for a show-stopping night of cheerleading, tumbling and stunts with the Nfinity Champions League Cheerleading Event. The event will be held at the Georgia International Convention Center in Atlanta and will feature 30 elite cheerleading squads.

The Champions League is a select group of up to 30 teams that represent a tradition of past, present and future excellence in Level 5 Cheerleading that have decided to come together to host a competition of epic proportions. Not only will the teams compete across all divisions, but they will compete across several formats including Senior versus Co-Ed and have one overall Grand Champion. There will also be opportunities for teams not originally included to earn their way into the League. The bottom teams each year will be subject to attrition to allow for new teams to rise up and take their place. In addition to The Champions League competition, teams of all levels and divisions will participate in the event in a regular two-day format.

The best part: Everyone will have the chance to see it. Four days after the event (which runs April 4-April 6), this event will be broadcast to cinemas nationwide on Thursday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. local time. The Champions League is a select group of 30 elite cheerleading teams from across the country who will gather in Atlanta, Ga. for a 3-day competition like none that has ever been held before. The Champions League in-theater event will not only highlight the weekend’s competition but will be the pinnacle of many of the participating teams’ competitive success over the last decade.

The Nfinity Champions League Cheerleading Event will be presented in more than 650 select movie theaters around the country through Fathom’s Digital Broadcast Network. Tickets are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com. For a complete list of theater locations and prices, visit the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).

"The Nfinity Champions League will be unlike any other event,” said Tate Chalk, founder and chief executive officer of Nfinity Athletic. “It will be the first time that the public will get a big screen glimpse into the captivating world of competitive cheerleading. We are thrilled and honored to be a part of such an influential moment in our industry."

Teams selected for this year’s Nfinity Champions League compete across a number of divisions and several formats. They will vie for awards for Champion of the Senior All Girl teams, Champion of the Co-Ed teams and overall Grand Champion. In a unique twist on the traditional cheerleading competition format, the Grand Prize will be a donation to the winning team’s charity of choice. A portion of the registration fees will also benefit each team’s selected charity. After this year’s inaugural event in Atlanta, the competition will move to a different U.S. city each year.

“Cheerleading fans are in for a real treat with the Nfinity Champions League,” said Shelly Maxwell, executive vice president of Fathom Events. “Whether those in the audience have been cheering for years or have never touched a pom-pon, they’ll be amazed at what these young athletes can do.”
