The Palm Beach County Sports Commission is proud to support the Inaugural Surfin 7's Rugby Tournament, which will be held Saturday, June 20th, at Lake Lytal Park in West Palm Beach. The tournament will honor Jason "Hobbit" Weinstein, an FAU student and an avid rugby player who died in a tragic surfing accident in November, 2008. Money raised will benefit his named scholarship fund through the FAU Rugby Foundation.

Gavin Curtis, Florida Rugby Union Tournament Director, stated "We want to honor and remember Jason and support his foundation. We will be accepting donations at the tournament."

The tournament will host over 20 teams from around the State of Florida in women's, men's and high school divisions. Games will start at 10 AM and conclude at 6 PM. The event is open to the public.

The Florida Rugby Union will also be a featured sports clinician at the Palm Beach County Sports Commission's Kids' Fitness Festival at the South Florida Fairgrounds on July 16th and 17th. At the festival, elementary and middle school aged children learn the basics of over 40 traditional and nontraditional sports from the area's leading instructors. Parents can enjoy the educational expo, food, interactive games and much, much more!
