Sports Destination Management Magazine

July/August 2008

Welcome to the premiere issue of Sports Destination Management. We are very excited to bring you solutions and best practices in our editorial content that we are confident will help you more effectively manage your events.

Many thanks go out to the numerous advisors and consultants with whom we've worked. While I cannot thank everyone, one key individual merits recognition. Don Schumacher, executive director of the National Association of Sports Commissions has been an immense help in learning about the industry from the sports commission perspective.

Let me say that while we publish this magazine, this is your magazine too. Whatever the advice, whatever the topic, we want to hear from you. As I mentioned in the opening, communication is the key. And we strive to serve as a conduit for effective sports event management.
