US Table Tennis Association Foundation Approves Grant to USATT

$145,000 Grant Will Support USATT and US National Team Programming

USA Table Tennis (USATT) announced the US Table Tennis Association Foundation (USTTAF) approved the application for a One Hundred Forty Five Thousand Dollar ($145,000) grant to directly support the USATT National Team and other USATT programming.

"The Foundation is excited to partner with USATT at this turning point for the growth of the sport," said Carl Danner, President of the USTTAF. "It's a great game with a great history, and an even brighter future. From the Olympics, to advertising and cutting-edge media, and to home tables everywhere, table tennis is putting a smile on millions of faces. USATT is poised to take the sport to the next level, and we are solidly behind them."

"We would like to sincerely thank the board of the US Table Tennis Association Foundation for their support and commitment in awarding this grant, which validates the positive direction of our organization," commented Peter Scudner, USATT Chairman. "The sport of table tennis is exploding all over the United States, and with the support of USTTAF and our membership, we expect USA Table Tennis to be a leader in developing new opportunities for the growth of the sport at the elite and recreational levels."

The USTTAF Board members include Donna Sakai (USATT Hall of Fame), Dell Sweeris (USATT Hall of Fame), YC Lee, Terry Timmins, John McFadden, Tom Miller and Bill Walk.

USA Table Tennis is organized under the United States Olympic Committee as the National Governing Body for the sport of table tennis in the United States. As a member service organization it promotes table tennis by creating opportunities for athletes and coaches of all backgrounds to participate in the sport through more than 250 clubs and over 350 tournaments across the nation annually. USA Table Tennis is a member of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), and is responsible for selecting and training teams for international competition including the Pan American and Olympic Games.
