NJCAA Partners with Its On Us Campaign to Stop Sexual Assault
14 Sep, 2015
The NJCAA launched a new partnership this fall with It’s On Us, working in collaboration with the campaign to combat sexual violence on college campuses around the country.
“As we enter the 2015 school year, it’s on all of us to recognize that sex without consent is sexual assault,” said It’s On Us campaign manager Kristin Avery. “With more sexual assaults occurring during the back-to-school time than any other time period, the It’s On Us campaign is especially dedicated to working with students nationwide to raise awareness of this issue. We’re excited that such a diverse set of partners stand with us as we promote this important new PSA, and we remind students that consent can never be assumed.”
The NJCAA will utilize its national platform through the NJCAA.org website, social media platforms – including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest – and the NJCAA Review magazine to raise awareness about the campaign and its goal to create a campus environment that makes sexual assault unacceptable.
Other campaign partners include sports organizations such as the United States Olympic Committee and NCAA, as well as several of the nation’s premier conferences, including the Atlantic Coast Conference, Big Ten Conference and Southeastern Conference.
Individuals that wish to voice their support can “Take the Pledge” at the It’s On Us website and raise awareness through social media using the hashtag #ItsOnUs.
It’s On Us: “It’s On Us” is a campaign to fundamentally shift the way we think and act about sexual assault on college campuses.
