2014 Event Will Bring More Than 15,000 Runners to Anaheim

Further underscoring the massive popularity of runDisney events, especially on the West Coast, the Tinker Bell Half Marathon sold out less than two days after it opened for general registration.

The third edition Tinker Bell Half Marathon, to be held Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014 at the city of Anaheim and Disneyland Resort, will involve more than 15,000 runners racing through a character-filled 13.1-mile course through Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks, as well as by several Anaheim landmarks. Finishers will receive a commemorative Tinker Bell “wings” medal.

A very limited number of registrations are still available for the half marathon through charity and travel groups. Runners can get more information on these opportunities by visiting www.rundisney.com. Also, runners can still register for other Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend events, including the new Tinker Bell 10K, Never Land Family Fun Run 5K and Kids Races.

The Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend is scheduled for Jan. 16-19. The new Disney Fairies-themed 10K is Saturday, January 18, giving runners another option to experience the popularity of a runDisney event. Tinker Bell 10K finishers will receive a new, specially-designed, fairy-themed medal.

Along with the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World Resort, the Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend is one of two women-focused runDisney events. Both races are among the largest women-specific running events in the country and focus on healthy, active lifestyles for women and girls.
