Minor League Cricket (MiLC) announced unprecedented audience growth for its 2025 season, the fifth in the history of MiLC, underscoring the sport’s accelerating momentum across the United States. The league’s digital viewership and social performance both achieved record highs, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for cricket among U.S. fans.
Live viewership across MiLC’s digital platforms surged 258% year-over-year, while total watch hours increased 269%, indicating not just a larger audience but deeper engagement from fans across the globe. Complementing that viewership growth, MiLC’s social channels saw explosive gains — with impressions up 266% and engagements up 447% compared to the 2024 season.
“These numbers demonstrate that cricket’s footprint in the U.S. is expanding rapidly,” said Johnny Grave, CEO of American Cricket Enterprises. “We’re not only seeing a record number of fans tuning in, but they’re spending more time watching, sharing, and engaging with the league than ever before. It’s an exciting sign of what’s to come for the sport in this country.”
The 2025 Minor League Cricket season marked another milestone year for the competition, reflecting its continued investment and professional growth across the country. With over $3.5 million in overall spend and 130 matches staged—120 on natural turf and 10 on hybrid wickets—the league delivered its highest-ever standards of play and production. Ninety percent of matches featured four or more cameras with live commentary, bringing fans closer to the action than ever before. More than 1,200 players registered for the season, with over 400 taking the field, including a strong youth presence driven by mandatory roster rules requiring two U21 players in every XI and at least one U19 in each squad. The playoffs featured 13 matches at premier venues in Grand Prairie and Morrisville, produced with six cameras and multiple commentators, culminating in $250,000 in prize money distributed across teams and top performers.
Atlanta Fire claimed the championship with a five-wicket win over the Chicago Kingsmen in the Final at Church Street Park in Morrisville, NC. Final MVP Aaron Jones delivered a standout performance, echoing his heroics for Team USA in their landmark 2024 World Cup victory over Pakistan — a testament to the level of talent showcased in MiLC.
“As cricket continues to grow following the success of Major League Cricket and global tournaments hosted in the U.S., MiLC remains the foundation for developing domestic talent and connecting fans with the game year-round,” added Zubin Surkari, Minor League Cricket Tournament Director. “The surge in viewership and engagement is a testament to the incredible athletes, passionate fanbase, and growing infrastructure supporting the sport here. I want to extend my thanks to the players, umpires, curators and owners for another successful season”
Minor League Cricket will return in 2026. Fans are encouraged to follow the MiLC social channels for further announcements regarding the dates and venues.
