Green Bay will be the prime destination for competitive bowling in the summer of 2015 as host of a new multi-week United States Bowling Congress event series.

USBC, in cooperation with the Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau, will bring six separate events to Green Bay in 2015 branded together as the new USBC Championship Series.

The events include two of USBC’s flagship events, the USBC Masters and USBC Queens, with the finals of both events broadcast on national television. Other events include the Senior Masters, Senior Queens, Summer Team USA Trials and Senior Championships.

The USBC Championship Series will take place July 17-Aug. 11 at Ashwaubenon Bowl in Green Bay.

“The goal of the USBC Championship Series is to collectively elevate six great events into something even bigger and create an exciting package attractive to host cities, new sponsors and bowlers,” USBC Managing Director of Membership and Events Pete Tredwell said. “Wisconsin is a great destination for competitive bowlers and bowling. The Greater Green Bay CVB and staff at Ashwaubenon Bowl made it clear that they would really roll out the red carpet for our bowlers and their families.”

Green Bay was selected by USBC over several top-tier destination cities following a competitive bid process.

“We have been discussing this event with USBC for over a year, and we are very excited to have the opportunity to have this new series of events in our community,” said Brad Toll, President and CEO of the Greater Green Bay CVB. “Greater Green Bay has hosted many USBC state championships. We have a long outstanding relationship with USBC and look forward to setting the bar high with an amazing experience at the inaugural USBC Championship Series. This winning bid was a true community effort and we want to specifically recognize the great support of the Brown County Professional Stadium District.”

The Masters, open to any USBC member, and Queens, open to all USBC female members, annually feature the top bowlers in the world competing for some of the biggest prize funds in the sport. The stepladder finals of both events will be broadcast on national television.

The world’s top senior bowlers age 50 and older compete for national titles in the Senior Masters and Senior Queens, while the Summer Team USA Trials features elite-level athletes competing for spots on Team USA. The Senior Championships is a national event for bowlers who have qualified through their state's senior tournament.

The tentative schedule for the 2015 USBC Championship Series has the Queens and Senior Queens taking place July 17-23, the Summer Team USA Trials from July 23-26, the Masters from July 26-Aug. 2, the Senior Masters from Aug. 3-9 and concluding with the Senior Championships from Aug. 9-11.
