Eau Claire to Host Classic Fastpitch Softball Tournament

The 49th Annual Eau Claire Classic Fastpitch Softball Tournament will be held in Eau Claire and Altoona June 26-28, 2015.

The tournament will host 82 teams from around the upper Midwest in five different age groups competing throughout the weekend. Softball games will be played at Bollinger Field, Gelein and Hobbs Field in Carson Park, DeLong Middle School, Eau Claire North High School, Memorial High School, Northstar Middle School, Newell Field, and Altoona.

"With 82 teams, we’re hosting one of, if not the, largest girls’ softball tournament in the State of Wisconsin this summer," said Visit Eau Claire Executive Director, Linda John.  "This is truly a great community event that has a tremendous economic impact on the Eau Claire Area, and we’re proud to support it."

The tournament will kick-off Friday at 6:00 p.m., continuing on Saturday and Sunday beginning at 8:00 a.m., with championship games taking place in the afternoon on Sunday. Admission is free and concessions are available.

The estimated economic impact of hosting this event in the Eau Claire Area is approximately $405,000.
