2023 WATL/WKTL USA Pro-Am Championships Coming to Fox Cities Exhibition Center

The Fox Cities Exhibition Center will transform into the host site of the USA Pro-Am Championships for the World Axe Throwing League (WATL) and World Knife Throwing League (WKTL) this week. The event kicks off on Thursday, November 9 and will conclude with the ESPN Finals on Sunday, November 12.

The first throwing event will be the Pro competition on Thursday, November 9 at 6:00pm. The knife and amateur competitions start at 9:00am and 2:00pm respectively on Friday, November 10. On Saturday, November 11, skills competitions begin at 9:00am with the Knife Duals and Twisted Duals competitions at 5:00pm. The finals will be taped on Sunday, November 12 for broadcast on ESPN 2. Doors open at 10:00am on Sunday with competition starting an hour later.

The Pro-Am is expected to attract a line-up of over 300 throwers, from 38 states, Canada, and Great Britain competing for $40,000 in prizes. A total of nine different events will be held during the Pro-Am Championships with a focus on highlighting throwers of various skill levels.

WATL and WKTL are the world’s largest governing bodies of their respective industries. The leagues are comprised of over 350 companies representing venues on every continent and membership of over 20,000 players. Appleton hosted the largest event in WATL/WKTL history, the 2022 World Axe & Knife Throwing Championships last December.

WATL and WKTL are partnering with Our Pack Animal Rescue, Inc for this event. From 11:00am to 4:00pm on Friday and Saturday, Our Pack will be on site with dogs who are looking to be adopted and brought to their fur-ever home.

The general public is encouraged to attend the weekend of events to see the unmatched skill of the best throwers in the world and excitement of intense competition. The throwing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be free and open to the public from 9:00am to roughly 8:00pm. Sunday’s ESPN Finals will be ticketed with a capacity of roughly 400 spectators.
