Marty Brooks to Lead Wisconsin Center District

The Wisconsin Center District (WCD) Board of Directors, has named Marty Brooks as the new CEO for the Wisconsin Center District. Brooks’ first day was January 22, 2018.

Marty Brooks brings to the WCD firsthand experience managing facilities for teams from the NHL, NFL, Division I Men’s and Women’s college basketball and the AHL. Brooks comes to his new position from Explore St. Louis, where he has served since December 2012 as senior vice president and general manager of the America’s Center complex, which is comprised of the Cervantes Convention Center and the 66,000-seat Dome at America’s Center. Prior to his stint with Explore St. Louis, he was the executive vice president and general manager for the Scottrade Center, home venue for the St. Louis Blues, and the 3,100-seat Peabody Opera House in St. Louis, and senior vice president and general manager for Madison Square Garden from 1985 until 2007.

According to Marty Brooks, “In my role, I look to increase the profitability of the Wisconsin Center District properties, as well as raise the profile of the District itself. A robust convention and events calendar for the District has a ripple effect throughout the community, and I look forward to working in partnership with VISIT Milwaukee to continue that trend.”
