Botetourt Sports Complex to Host National Events

The Botetourt Sports Complex, located in Troutville, Virginia, has announced arrangements to host softball action throughout the month of May. The calendar includes the following:

May 3-5: Freedom Sports Super Regional Adult Slow-Pitch Tournament

May 9-11: NCCAA Women’s Fast-pitch Softball World Series

May 17-18: Botetourt County Youth Recreation SOL Stress Buster

May 23-24: Three Rivers District High School Softball Championship

May 25-26: USSSA Western VA Spring State Baseball Tournament

Other events are scheduled through October 2013. All told, the Botetourt Sports Complex is slated to host 30 action-packed sporting events with a wide interest level for participants and spectators in 2013, with events ranging from Botetourt’s own local youth recreational and high school teams, to numerous regional and national championship events. More than 100,000 visitors from more than 30 states have attended events held in the facility since it opened its doors in June 2007.

The Botetourt Sports Complex is located within the 125-acre Greenfield Recreation Park which features a cross-country course, soccer fields and a hiking trail. Future planned enhancements include picnic facilities, a community center and more. The Botetourt Sports Complex is a state-of-the-art facility located just minutes from I-81 and only 25 minutes from downtown Roanoke, Virginia. The Sports Complex features four championship level softball and youth baseball fields, all with beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The fields are arranged around a central, three-story tower with space for tournament operations, scorekeeping, concessions and restrooms.

The Sports Complex offers wireless high-speed internet access (Wi-Fi) to all guests with personal laptops or PDA’s that have wireless capabilities. Guests visiting the Botetourt Sports Complex will have the world at their fingertips via this Wi-Fi Zone.
