Gran Fondo World Tour Includes Stop in Vermont

Jun 21, 2022

The organizing team at the Gran Fondo World Tour – which spans the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific – has confirmed some rescheduling to the series’ 2022 calendar.

The Ang Khang KOM event in Thailand has been postponed due to Covid-19 challenges in Chiang Mai province. The event will be rescheduled when international travel to Thailand has been relaxed.

“They have the support from GFWT to restart international promotion as soon as the event in Thailand can launch again,” said Dani Buyo, CEO of Gran Fondo World Tour.

GFWT will restart event activities on 13th March in Catalonia, Spain, with Ciclo Experience Garraf-Penedes. Here, the route starts and finishes in Vilanova i la Geltru in the Catalan province of Barcelona.

GFWT’s Buyo said “We want to express our thanks to A M Events and the Vilanova i la Geltru municipality for backing this new event near Barcelona, opening the region to international gran fondo cyclists with an immersive experience.

“The route to Garraf mountain, the Penedes vineyards area, through Querol and turning to go back to the seaside city is combined with amazing hospitality. There are many different amenities to offer a customer experience for finishers and family.”

After the March event in Spain, the series takes a short break to prepare for a busy month of May, with three events – in Switzerland, Cyclotour du Leman; South Korea, Seorak Gran Fondo; and Gran Fondo Madeira.

Events in the series then run throughout June, July, September, October and November.
