During Visit Salt Lake’s (VSL) recent Year in Review and Awards Dinner, Caryn Bradshaw, director of sports services, promotions and athlete experience for Sports Salt Lake, was presented the inaugural Crystal Colleague Award.
The Crystal Colleague of the Year program recognizes exemplary performance by a Visit Salt Lake employee. This inaugural annual award is presented to a full-time team member in recognition of and appreciation for exceptional job performance and distinguished contributions to the organization’s community. Award criteria include four attributes: S.A.L.T.- service, achievement, leadership & tenacity.
According to her colleagues, Caryn “probably knows more about Visit Salt Lake than senior staff” and is “easily the best cross-trained employee here.” During COVID, all our employees pivoted to new roles, but Caryn rose to superstar status by wearing more hats than anyone in the history of VSL. She’s been nicknamed the Swiss Army Knife.” Workmates also cite that she’s the “very definition of tenacity, refusing to fail at duties and expecting to exceed.”
“Visit Salt Lake is such a family to me and am honored to have been chosen for this prestigious award,” said Bradshaw. “I’m particularly proud of how we all pulled together, pivoted to new positions and did everything possible, as a group, to ensure the recovery of our vital travel and tourism economy in Salt Lake County.”
In her role at Sports Salt Lake, Bradshaw closely collaborates with sports event planners to select venues, oversee volunteers, assist in marketing initiatives, and serve as Sports Salt Lake’s main liaison for incoming sporting events. “The athlete and event planning experience is critical to attracting and retaining sporting events and we are thrilled to have Caryn on our team,” said Clay Partain, managing director of Sports Salt Lake.
