Visit Lubbock and Lubbock Sports Welcome Two Members to Team

Visit Lubbock and Lubbock Sports, a division of Visit Lubbock (the convention and visitors bureau), are pleased to announce the addition of Amber Pennington, sales and services coordinator, and Christina Irizarry, visitor information specialist, to their team. Both women bring customer service experience to their new positions.

Pennington’s primary responsibilities as the sales and services coordinator include event planning and meeting management for convention and sporting groups, assisting clients in need of serviced events and serving as a liaison between clients and area hotels and facilities.

Irizarry’s primary responsibilities as the visitor information specialist include administrative support for the Visit Lubbock and Lubbock Sports Teams and providing clients and visitors with information regarding their visit in Lubbock.

“Hosting more than 360 events annually, the team at Visit Lubbock and Lubbock Sports are more than thrilled to include Amber on staff,” John Osborne, president and CEO of Visit Lubbock, said. “A majority of those groups and events call for specific servicing requests, and I know Amber’s previous experience and West Texas hospitality will help her excel. We are also very excited to have Christina welcoming and assisting guests and clients as one of the first people they talk to in Lubbock. Her enthusiasm and positive demeanor are a perfect fit for this position.”

Pennington’s previous positions include administrative secretary at University Medical Center, weekday education director at First Baptist Church in Borger, Texas and events coordinator for the Country Music Association in Nashville, Tenn. Irizarry’s previous positions include guest services representative at Nothing Bundt Cakes in Lubbock and Fashion Camp Counselor for Texas Tech University.
