Visit Corpus Christi has partnered with Wheel the World, a global leader in accessible travel, to promote accessible travel to the Gulf Coast Capital. With seven local businesses completing Wheel the World’s comprehensive accessibility audit, Corpus Christi is now officially the first destination on the Texas Gulf Coast to achieve this certification milestone.

Wheel the World enables travelers with disabilities to find and book accessible experiences and excursions across the globe. Through personalized user profiles, travelers can view listings that match their specific needs—ranging from mobility and sensory accommodations to visual or auditory support. Corpus Christi’s verified listings are now featured on WheelTheWorld.com, providing detailed accessibility information for each participating business.

“Accessibility is a powerful catalyst for sustainable tourism growth,” said Brook Kaufman, President and CEO of Visit Corpus Christi. “Through this partnership with Wheel the World, we’re positioning Corpus Christi as a leader on the Texas Gulf Coast—creating new pathways for inclusive travel that boost our local economy and enhance our global appeal.”

The Wheel the World program functions similarly to a booking engine powered by Expedia, offering verified information about accessible lodging, attractions, and activities. Each audit evaluates key accessibility factors such as wheelchair access, sensory-friendly design, and mobility support to ensure transparent, inclusive travel experiences for all visitors.
