Visit Corpus Christi, the official destination marketing organization for Corpus Christi, Texas, is pleased to announce Brook Kaufman as its new Chief Executive Officer.
“We are excited to announce Brook as our new CEO at Visit Corpus Christi and look forward to her leadership as we enter the next era of tourism,” said Richard Lomax, Board Chair of Visit Corpus Christi. “We have a dynamic team at Visit Corpus Christi and the addition of Brook will keep our momentum going as we compete on the national stage.”
Kaufman joins Visit Corpus Christi with an extensive background in the travel and tourism industry, most recently serving as the President & Chief Executive Officer at Visit Rapid City. While at Visit Rapid City, Brook led various initiatives, including the development and integration of the Rapid City Sports Commission, the merging of Main Street Square with Visit Rapid City, a new brand and campaign, launching the Certified Tourism Ambassador™ Program and acquiring City View Trolley. Prior to Visit Rapid City, she served as the CEO of Visit Casper in Casper, Wyoming.
With a strong track record of leadership and innovation, Kaufman brings a wealth of experience to further elevate Corpus Christi as a premier destination. Moreover, the team Kaufman led at Visit Rapid City was among the six recipients of the 2024 Culture Award by FiredUp! Culture, alongside Visit Corpus Christi, which was also recognized. This recognition highlights Brook’s ability to cultivate a strong organizational culture that empowers teams to grow, thrive, and achieve excellence. Her leadership style and commitment to fostering high-performing, award-winning teams align seamlessly with Visit Corpus Christi’s values, further positioning the organization as a premier destination marketing entity.
“We knew we needed to find an experienced leader with the vision, marketing skill set, and business acumen to help our community capitalize on all the opportunity that lies ahead,” added Lomax. “Brook brings all these traits and more with the energy we need to continue to push forward. The future is bright in Corpus Christi.”
Kaufman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration – BBA, Marketing from Wichita State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Wyoming. She has her CDME certification and currently serves on the Board of Directors for CDME; she’s also Past Board Chair for One West Tourism Alliance.
