The Dallas Cowboys - in partnership with the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol (FMF), FC Dallas, the Dallas Sports Commission and Soccer United Marketing announced the 2020 return of the Mexican National Team U.S. Tour – including a match at AT&T Stadium, the second edition of the MexTour Live Fan Fest and concert in Dallas, and various community events.  Mexico’s top stars are expected to participate in the match. The announcement was made today at AT&T Stadium by Mexican World Cup Legend Luis “El Matador” Hernandez shortly before kickoff of the Cowboys-Dolphins game.

The Mexican National Team will play at AT&T Stadium during the weekend within the March 2020 FIFA window (March 27-29) against an opponent to be named later.  Fans are invited to register at www.MexTour.orgfor exclusive future details about match date, opponent and ticket on-sale information.  The MexTour Live Fan Fest and concert will take place in the days leading up to the match. The concert headliner as well as festival location will be announced at a later date, also at www.MexTour.org.

The weekend-long series of events in the greater Dallas Metroplex are being presented as part of a landmark sports partnership announced in 2018 between the five sports organizations that brings the popular Mexican National Team U.S. Tour to North Texas annually through 2022.  In June of this year, thousands of fans attended the inaugural MexTour Fan Fest and concert at Dallas City Hall Plaza, which was headlined by Latin pop artist Luis Coronel.  The MexTour Live Fan Fest featured appearances by Mexican National Team and Dallas Cowboys legends and players, food, drinks, and family fun.  The following night Mexico, defeated Ecuador 3-2 in front of nearly 60,000 fans at AT&T Stadium. In addition, a bilingual childhood reading challenge was launched, in conjunction with the Dallas Sports Commission, with students logging-in more than seven million reading minutes, with players from both the Dallas Cowboys and FC Dallas visiting local schools.  The winning classroom received tickets to the game and a pre-game experience where they were recognized in front of the fans.

Since its opening in 2009, AT&T Stadium and North Texas have become a second home for the Mexican National Team; the Tricolor have played eight games at the Cowboys’ stadium - a facility Mexico inaugurated – and have enjoyed a winning record of 6-1-1 and an average of nearly 80,000 fans in five MexTour matches at the stadium.

The annual MexTour has become one of the most popular sporting events in the country, with an average of approximately 50,000 fans per game throughout the past 17 years. With over 90 games played since 2002, the Mexican National Team has utilized the matches to reach its fervent fan base across North America and prepare for important competitions like the FIFA World Cup and Concacaf Gold Cup.

More than a 90-minute game, each tour stop is a week-long celebration of the sport, featuring public and media events, and culminating on gameday outside the stadium with the AT&T Futbol Fiesta, a 120,000+ sq. ft. interactive fan area featuring sponsor booths, food, music, and autograph sessions by Mexican soccer legends.  Additional dates and cities for the 2020 tour will be released at a later date.

The Mexican National Team U.S. Tour, sponsored by adidas, Advance Auto Parts, Allstate Insurance Company, AT&T, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Coca-Cola, Daisy Sour Cream, Delta/Aeromexico, Estrella Jalisco, Honey Nut Cheerios, Lucky Charms, Nissan, POWERADE, The Home Depot, and Wells Fargo. The tour will visit various cities across the United States in 2019 and be broadcast nationally on the Univision family of networks and Fútbol de Primera Radio Network.
