The Greater Waco Sports Commission is excited to welcome young athletes back to the IRONKIDS® Waco Run, along with the debut of the new “Splash & Dash”, during IRONMAN® 70.3 Waco race weekend. Both events will take place on the morning of Saturday, October 4 in downtown Waco.
Children up to age 17 will have the unique opportunity to cross the same finish line as IRONMAN athletes. Distances are tailored for every age group—from the Diaper Dash and Toddler Trot to the half-mile and full-mile run.
This year introduces the Splash & Dash, which combines a swim at the Cambria/Even Hotel pool with a run on the IRONKIDS course. The new format sold out shortly after being announced with registrations signaling record participation this year.
“IRONKIDS is about more than racing: it’s about fun, community, and giving kids the chance to feel like champions,” said Mike Vogelaar, Executive Director of the Greater Waco Sports Commission. “It’s one of the most exciting parts of IRONMAN weekend in Waco.”
Families are encouraged to register online in advance for $25 per participant. Each child will receive a race shirt, finisher medal, and the unforgettable experience of celebrating at the official IRONMAN finish line.
