The Waco Sports Corporate Cup is a corporate field day style competition designed to strengthen workplace culture while advancing GWSC’s mission to empower the heart of central Texas through sport and to develop healthy youth, community and family. Companies compete in a series of accessible, team-based challenges that emphasize participation, collaboration, and fun rather than elite athletic performance.
In its inaugural year, 38 businesses competed, drawing more than 2,000 attendees and participants. Interest continues to grow in 2026, with 26 of 50 team spots already secured and the event more than halfway sold out.
“This event continues to prove that sports can be a powerful connector,” said Mike Vogelaar, President of the Greater Waco Sports Commission. “The Corporate Cup gives companies a meaningful way to invest in their people while also supporting the broader mission of impacting this community through sport.”
Proceeds from the event support GWSC initiatives, including developing an afterschool youth sports program for underserved communities, community programming, and the recruitment of new sporting events that generate hotel stays and local spending throughout the Greater Waco region.
The 2026 Corporate Cup season begins in April with the Light Up the Dark 5K benefiting Unbound Now, followed by a 3v3 basketball tournament at Midway ISD and a pickleball tournament in May. The competition culminates with the signature Corporate Cup Field Day on June 6, 2026 at McLennan Community College.
Team registration and sponsorship opportunities remain open, though space is limited. Businesses interested in forming a team or becoming a sponsor are encouraged to visit www.wacosports.org or contact Mike Vogelaar at Mike@WacoSports.org.
