Greater Waco Sports Commission and Unbound Now to Host The Light Up The Dark 5K Presented by Chick-fil-A in Waco to Fight Human Trafficking

Greater Waco Sports Commission and Unbound Now will host its annual Light Up The Dark 5K, presented by Chick-fil-A, on April 18, 2026, at Cameron Park Zoo in Waco, Texas, bringing the community together to raise awareness and funds to combat human trafficking.

The family-friendly, glow-in-the-dark event invites runners, walkers, and supporters of all ages to participate in a unique nighttime experience that combines fitness, entertainment, and a meaningful cause. Participants can choose between a 5K race or a 1K fun run.

The event aims to shine a light on the ongoing issue of human trafficking while supporting Unbound Now’s mission to provide resources, education, and advocacy for survivors.

The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with food trucks, live entertainment including zoo experiences, and family-friendly activities inside Cameron Park Zoo. The 1K race will start at 7:00 p.m., followed by the 5K at 7:45 p.m., creating an exciting, high-energy atmosphere under the lights.

All registered participants will receive a race T-shirt, glow gear, and a finisher medal, making the experience both memorable and impactful. In addition to participating in the race, attendees are encouraged to build teams and raise funds to support Unbound Now’s anti-human trafficking initiatives further locally and globally.
