Eight of the Top Local 6-A Football Programs to Participate

A new tradition comes to Dallas’ historic Cotton Bowl Stadium over Labor Day Weekend in September with the kick-off of the Cotton Bowl Stadium Prep Showcase.

“The Dallas Sports Commission is honored to work together with the Cotton Bowl Stadium and the eight high schools to present this great weekend of high school football at such an iconic and legendary venue,” said Monica Paul, Executive Director of the Dallas Sports Commission.

Eight of the top Dallas-area 6-A football programs will play in the Cotton Bowl Stadium Prep Showcase, with seven of the eight having been playoff teams in 2015.  Some of the state’s top recruits will be showcased, including Oklahoma commit Chris Robison, quarterback at Mesquite Horn; Rockwall wide receiver Sam Crawford; and Plano East linebacker Anthony Hines and defensive lineman Delontae Watts.

“We are excited to participate in the inaugural Cotton Bowl Stadium Prep Showcase”, said Steve Bragg, Mesquite ISD Athletic Director.  “The Dallas Sports Commission and Cotton Bowl Staff have worked hard to ensure that the athletes, fans, and communities involved are going to have a first class experience!”

The pre-sale period for tickets will run through June 1 with General Admission tickets priced at $6.00 plus applicable fees.  After June 1, tickets will be $8.00 with applicable fees and tickets at the door on the day of the games will be $10.00.  Tickets for the 2016 Cotton Bowl Stadium Prep Showcase are now available by visiting www.cbsprepshowcase.com

The Prep Showcase is a once-in-a-lifetime moment for them to play in the iconic Cotton Bowl Stadium. We’re delighted to partner with the Dallas Sports Commission to highlight outstanding talent and provide fans yet another way to support their teams,” said Daniel Huerta, Fair Park executive general manager.
