Launching Summer 2019 - The Cowtown offers additional engagement opportunities to athletes of all ages and skill levels across the nation and North Texas. Proceeds for all three new programs benefit the children of The Cowtown C.A.L.F. (Children’s Activities for Life and Fitness) program.

  1. Fourth Annual C.A.L.F. Running Camp Sessions June 10-14 and June 17-21
  2. Virtual Run Series - Through August 31
  3. Trailblazer Training Group - July 13 – December 15

C.A.L.F. Kids Running Camp:  The Fourth Annual C.A.L.F. Running Camp will be conducted in two separate sessions, June 10-14 and June 17-21, at The Cowtown offices, 2617 Whitmore Street, Fort Worth. The camp sessions, for children entering 2nd grade to those entering 6th grade, will take place Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Campers learn a variety of running and health tips, participate in field day and fun run activities, have healthy snacks and receive a camp shirt, pedometer, and a swag bag on closing day. Registration fees are $95 per child per session. Grants of $20 are available.

Virtual Run Series: The Cowtown is launching its first-ever Virtual Run Series. This three-month charitable event takes place from June through August, offering runners across the nation a chance to ‘Run the Cowtown’--in their own hometown.

Each month for $30, runners can participate in a 5K run or walk.  Each entry fee is the exact amount needed to pay for a low-income child to receive a new pair of running shoes.

A virtual series allows athletes to enjoy the experience:

  • when and where they choose
  • alone or with friends
  • at their own pace, with their dog, stroller, treadmill, you name it.

Cowtown virtual runners can choose one, two, or all three virtual runs. Each month’s race will feature a themed, collectible medal, inspiring athletes of every age and ability to lace up and support our cause.

Trailblazer Training Program: The Cowtown Trailblazer Training Group is an exciting 21-week program for those interested in training for a half or a full marathon. Interest meetings will be held on May 28, June 11, and July 9 at 7:30pm at The Cowtown office. The Training program runs from July 13 - December 15 and starts with a 5K time trail to establish various training paces. Both beginner and advanced schedules are available.

The Trailblazers plan offers several different group activities: Tuesday social run, Wednesday Bootcamp, Thursday Speedwork, and Saturday long runs with pace coaches. Perks include snacks after long runs, different routes each Saturday, seminars on relevant topics, and a Trailblazer training shirt. Cost is $150.
