The 48th running of Chevron Houston Marathon race weekend will take place January 17-19, 2020. Registration is currently open.

Recognized by the IAAF, the Gold Label Aramco Houston Half Marathon has held 16 U.S. Half Marathon Championships and the Silver Label Chevron Houston Marathon has been the race site for three U.S. Olympic Trials Marathons. In 2012, the HMC became the first sports organization to earn dual certification from the Council for separate events conducted on consecutive days (2012 U.S. Olympic Trials Marathon; 2012 Chevron Houston Marathon) and for the past six consecutive years, the events have garnered Gold Certification from the Council of Responsible.

Race Weekend generates over $50 million in economic impact for the region annually. In addition to its economic impact, the HMC facilitates social responsibility through its Run for a Reason Charity Program which has raised over $30 million since its inception and the Houston Marathon Foundation, which serves the greater Houston area through support of youth and community organizations that promote access to and participation in running.

The event is televised annually with 2016 being the first time the race received national and international syndication airing on ESPN3 and the Longhorn Network.

iTAB has announced iTAB’s (medal personalization service) exciting new partnership with Chevron Houston Marathon. The partnership enables runners to commemorate their personal milestones at the 48th anniversary of the Chevron Houston Marathon in 2020. It also helps to facilitate the spirit of the city of Houston spirit, celebrating the time-honored tradition of runners taking on the challenge of 26.2 or 13.1 miles in the Bayou City.

With over 300,000 spectators, volunteers and participants in the marathon and half marathon, Chevron Houston Marathon Race Day is the largest single-day sporting event in Houston. The Aramco Houston Half Marathon is home to some of the fastest half marathon performances in the world, including both the men’s (Ryan Hall, 2007) and women’s (Molly Huddle, 2018) American Half Marathon records.

In Houston, we take immense pride in the fact that we extend Texas-Hospitality to every runner. It’s through partnerships like iTAB that we are able to focus on elevating each individual’s participant experience to make our event their own and continue to the legacy of our event,” saidWade Morehead, Executive Director, Houston Marathon Committee.

iTAB is thrilled to work with such an established race partner and looks forward to personalizing participants finisher medals with their name and finish time.

Since its birth over a decade ago, more than 1,000,000 athletes worldwide have celebrated their incredible achievements with an iTAB. Now, the iTAB service is available to Houston Marathon participants - helping them to remember their race day for years to come.

“Increasingly, runners want to personalize their event day experience, the iTAB service is a unique way for Houston’s participants to celebrate and share their individual journeys to the finish line,” saidGary, Sales & Marketing Director, iTAB

The iTAB service is available in registration when runners sign up for any of Houston’s events. If runners have already entered the race, they can simply log back into their registration account and order their iTAB*.

*iTAB is currently not available for the 2020 We Are Houston 5K presented by Aramco & Chevron.
