Big Country Athletic Hall of Fame to Celebrate State Champions

The Big Country Athletic Hall of Fame is sponsoring a celebration for the Big Country's four state championship football teams from Benjamin, Westbrook, Albany and Hawley on Sunday, January 22 at the Mall of Abilene.

We will gather at 2 p.m. in the courtyard in front of the Women’s Dillard’s store. There will be brief presentation, and we will then divide into three groups. There will be a presentation of certificates to each team, KTXS-TV has put together a video highlighting all four state championship games, and there will be a guided tour and free admission to the Big Country Athletic Hall of Fame museum.

There will also be championship T-shirts for sale at the museum, which is located next to JCPenney.

It will be a fun, exciting day and a chance for the Hall of Fame museum to help celebrate the four record-setting state champions from the Big Country. The public is invited. A photo of each team will be taken and will be on display in the museum for the next year.
