Runners from across Texas and beyond will descend on Waco this Memorial Day Weekend for the return of the Badass Texas Half Marathon, 10K & 5K, one of the most challenging and rewarding race experiences in the region.
Hosted by Run Project, Badass Texas is known for its rolling hills through Cameron Park, scenic stretches along the Brazos River, and warm late-spring conditions—a combination that pushes runners to their limits and makes the finish line that much sweeter.
“Badass Texas was built to be a race that truly tests you,” said Race Director Rob Ostrout. “It’s not supposed to be easy—it’s supposed to be earned. That’s what makes the community and the finish line so special.”
The race will take place on Sunday, May 24, 2026, starting and finishing in downtown Waco, with distances for all levels including a Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K.
Beyond race day, the event offers a full weekend experience, including:
A free Shakeout Run on Saturday evening hosted by Waco Running Company
A post-race pool party celebration at the Even Hotel
A finish line festival featuring food, drinks, and live entertainment
The event also proudly partners with Project Hero, supporting veterans and first responders through recovery and community programs.
Participants can expect premium swag, including race shirts, custom finisher medals, and a uniquely Texas race-day atmosphere rooted in community and grit.
Registration is currently open, with pricing tiers increasing as race day approaches.
