Supertri has announced the first wave of professional athletes for the opening round of the Supertri Pro Series, which takes place in Austin, TX, on May 25, 2026.
The event, Ascension Seton Supertri Austin, is being run in conjunction with USA Triathlon. The collaboration aims to provide elite development opportunities for athletes ahead of the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
The professional field will feature an international versus American narrative, with established stars racing against emerging US talent on what is described as one of the fastest courses on the triathlon calendar.
Among the first athletes confirmed is Tim Hellwig, an Olympic gold medallist from Germany. Hellwig, who secured a mixed team relay gold in Paris, is returning to top-level competition following a period of injury.
He is joined by Seth Rider, a member of the USA’s Olympic silver medal-winning mixed relay team. Other confirmed international competitors include Hungary’s Fanni Szalai. The 18-year-old has established herself as a highly decorated junior athlete since her debut at the age of 15.
The line-up also includes Mathis Beaulieu from Canada, Diana Isakova, and Zuzana Michaličková, who finished eighth overall in the 2025 Supertri season. The full start list for the Austin event is expected to be confirmed during race week.
The Supertri Pro Series uses a draft-legal sprint distance format. A key feature of the series is the integration of mass-participation racing, where thousands of amateur athletes have the opportunity to compete on the same course as the professionals on the same day.
The partnership between Supertri and USA Triathlon has recently expanded. In addition to the Austin event, it was recently announced that Supertri Long Beach, CA, and Supertri New Jersey will host rounds of the USA Paratriathlon Nationals Qualifier Series.
For the Supertri Pro Series, prize money is paid 10 deep to support athlete development. Furthermore, three athletes per gender will qualify via the series for the Supertri Pro Series Final, which features a US$800,000 prize pool.
The 2026 Supertri Pro Series schedule includes:
- Ascension Seton Supertri Austin, USA – May 25, 2026
- Supertri Blenheim Palace, UK – June 7, 2026
- Supertri Toronto, Canada – July 26, 2026
The date and location for the series final is expected to be announced later this month.
Supertri is an international triathlon organiser focused on fast-format racing. The company organises a series of triathlon festivals in city locations, designed to connect elite professional athletes with the wider amateur triathlon community.
Adam Leitch, Communications Director at Supertri, noted the opportunities for development within the series as the sport looks toward future Olympic cycles.
The amateur events in Austin are scheduled across the weekend of May 25, 2026, with various entry options available for participants ranging from experienced amateurs to first-time competitors.
