Corpus Christi Sports Commission Honored with Event Marketing Campaign of the Year Award

The Corpus Christi Sports Commission, a strategic initiative of Visit Corpus Christi, has been honored with the Event Marketing Campaign of the Year award highlighting the efforts executed for the inaugural Coastal Bend Sports Hall of Fame and Award Show. The award was presented to members of the sports commission at this year's Sports ETA Member Awards powered by Team Travel Source.  
 

The Coastal Bend Sports Hall of Fame was hosted in June 2024. The yearly event celebrated the rich sports heritage of the Coastal Bend region and honored local legends and high school athletes. Now, the same event has won national recognition for its extensive marketing efforts, earning accolades from sports industry professionals far and wide.  
 

“This award is a testament to how intentional sports marketing can unite our community and elevate Corpus Christi on the national stage. The Coastal Bend Sports Hall of Fame & Awards Show reflected not only our athletic history but also our growing potential as a hub for sports tourism,” said Emily Zertuche, Chief Marketing Officer at Visit Corpus Christi. 
 

The 2024 Sports ETA Member Awards highlight excellence in sports tourism and event marketing across the nation. This recognition underscores the impact of Corpus Christi’s efforts to elevate its status as a leader in sports tourism while enhancing community pride.
