Sioux Falls has been chosen to host the 2016 ASA/USA Girls 14U Fast Pitch National Championships. Sioux Falls last hosted this event in 2012, bringing in a record number of 164 teams from across the country. The week-long tournament will be held at Sherman and Harmodon Parks the first week of August 2016 and is estimated to bring in nearly $8,000,000 of economic impact to the city of Sioux Falls.

Without Sioux Falls People for Youth these tournaments would not be possible. Along with the Sioux Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), Sioux Falls People for Youth paved the way to win the 2016 National Tournament during the recent 2014 ASA/USA Annual Meeting in Sparks, NV. Parks and Recreation Director Don Kearney was also a member of the bidding group. Jerry Dahmen represented Results Radio and did live remote interviews as well as stories on what it takes to compete for National Tournaments.

"Congratulations to all the cities selected to host a 2016 ASA/USA National Championship," said ASA/USA Director of Championships Chris Sebren. "ASA/USA Softball has a long and storied history of hosting quality softball National Championships and we know these cities will live up to that legacy."

Sioux Falls was also selected to host two National Slow Pitch Softball Tournaments during the ASA/USA Annual Meeting in Sparks, NV. Kenny Anderson Jr. worked to bring the 2016 C/D Women’s National Championships and the 2016 E/Rec Men’s National Championships to Sioux Falls. These tournaments are tentatively scheduled for Labor Day weekend 2016 and will bring approximately 80 teams to Sioux Falls.
