World Pole Championships Coming to Montreal in October

The International Pole Sports Federation (IPSF) will host the World Pole Championships (WPC). The championships will be held October 3-6, 2019 at Centre Sportive in Montreal. Information is here.

The IPSF is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to positively promoting pole as an athletic sport. Recently awarded Observer Status by the Global Association of Global Sports Federations (GAISF), the IPSF is run by voluntary members of the Pole Sports Industry from across the globe, created to foster the development of pole throughout the world. The IPSF supports individuals and national federations to unify the pole sports Industry.

By setting in place a regulated structure of competitions and coaching that will be accepted by international sport governing bodies, the IPSF’s goal is to become a global, relevant sport for its athletes and one day become a recognized by the International Olympic Committee. 

World Pole Championships

The World Pole Championships was created by the International Pole Sports Federation in 2012.

The World Pole Weekend is held annually and is part of a network over 25+ competitions with over 5,000 athletes competing for the coveted title of national champion and Qualification to the Worlds.

Athletes compete in the following categories and disciplines:

  • Senior Women – 18-39 years
  • Senior Men – 18-39 years
  • Male/Female Doubles – 18+
  • Female/Female Doubles – 18+
  • Male/Male Doubles – 18+
  • Masters – 40+ Women
  • Masters – 40+ Men
  • Masters – 50+ Women
  • Masters – 50+ Men
  • Junior Girls – 15-17 years
  • Junior Boys – 15-17 years
  • Junior Doubles Mixed
  • Novice Girls – 10-14 years
  • Novice Boys – 10-14 years
  • Novice Doubles Mixed
  • Youth Doubles Mixed
  • Artistic Pole
  • Ultra-Pole 

Top athletes are selected from each National Championship to represent their country at the IPSF World Pole Championships annually; more than 40 countries are represented. IPSF judging rules, regulations and scoring have been carefully created by the IPSF technical committee in conjunction with the pole community, to promote a fair and transparent judging.
